We're super excited to announce Queensland Walk4Duchenne 2023
From March 6th-13th 2023 we will be walking in Queensland to raise awareness for Duchenne. Duchenne is caused by mutations in the dystrophin gene, which has 79 exons (coding areas). Dystrophin normally protects muscle cells from damage and without it, the muscle cells deteriorate. People with Duchenne have missing exons and overtime this causes damage to muscle cells.
